Notes from the Great American Beach Vacation //1

Had a chance to take the family out on a boat for a few hours yesterday. The sea was rough, particularly for a man given to motion sickness. In the nautical vernacular, of which I am (recently) very familiar, I can say that even with the kedge anchor securely fastened to the cathead, the boat rocked aft to bow, port to starboard. And after about 30 minutes, though the designated and legal shipmaster, I had to let up on the tiller, leave the wheelhouse, and ALMOST lost my lunch leeward, over the gunwale.

Good times!
