I apologize if the title is misleading, or if the question mark was not prominent enough. I know next to nothing about self-publishing so have no meaningful thoughts to offer.
I did however want to reach out to this wonderful and knowledgeable community to see if any of you have thoughts and/or experience with self-publishing. I am considering publishing something similar to what’s represented in the photo below. It might be less a guidebook and more essays, but something along those lines as a first attempt at published work.
Any thoughts or experience that you fine folks are willing to share?

I am subscribed to a few good sites on writing and publishing. Writerunboxed is one of them. I am really enjoying their community. It’s free. Tons of great advice. I typed in “self-publishing” on their site’s search engine … voila … it came up with a boatload of advice. Maybe a great place to start.

The site targets fiction writers, but I think the advice on self publishing fits non fiction as well.
