I really like the new apps that make it easy to see your medical history, appointments, doctor’s notes, etc, all in one place. But it does make me a bit uncomfortable that my account balance is always right there in view.
I wonder if my doctor ever glances at my account balance during our consult, and is tempted to change his diagnosis.
“Mr. Mullins, I’m going to strongly suggest you see a surgeon immediately, like TODAY…(notices I owe $168.50)…you know what, you’re fine. Put some aloe on it and, uh, don’t call us, we’ll call you.”
